    Checking out Hobby Himmel

The “Anstiftung”, previously known as Anstiftung Ertomis decided to start a collaborative online platform for open workshops of any kind.

So we met up at Hobby Himmel a professionally run tech shop style format of an open workshop. By beeing professional they do care about OEE or availabilty of parts unlike the other hobbyist workshops as ours in Tuebingen. But to finance this approach, usage is paid by hours / usage and not by a standard club membership (although two different types of flatrate is available).

Fun fact – Hobby Himmel is just a test to proof everyone wrong: “A professional tech shop in Germany is possible!”

  • Paris

    Paris

After some month without travelling I headed out to Paris! Thanks to the TGV and Deutsche Bahn Stuttgart – Paris is about 4 hours without any security checks (plane) or traffic jam (car).

Lovely town, awesome food and simply an old friend to visit.

  • Okay…Japan in autumn

    Hi there.

Sometimes in life you are lucky! And this time it was me. I got couple of days leave left and I will go back to Japan. A second time. Heck yeah!
And it will be in autumn. A lot of red leaves, feels like maybe Canada and a lot of goood food ^.^

    So, see you there!

  • Japan, Japan, it’s all about Japan!

Every now and then – I head to Japan to visit family, friends and some other bunch of people 🙂 This year I had the chance to leave for mor than a month and gladly I travelled a lot!

At first, I travelled to Shikoku, visited marvelous cities like Kochi, Shimanto and the beaches and continued to Naruto. Last days of this trip had been Nao-Shima (yes – pun intended!) and Kurashiki.

Last but not least a friend and I travelled from Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto) to Kanazawa, proceeded to Kanto (Tokyo & Kamakura) and ended up again in Kansai at Nara.

Couple of days with my family – and I left again for Europe! 🙂

    northern countryside

Japan had been a blast, but it had been quite hectic to be here and there. So I just went for some days on the countryside filled with hard work! We turned a full yard of the second year compost with showels and wheelbarrels. But anyhow, on the countryside you might find some high quality food! 🙂

  • It’s Japan. As usual.

As every year – I’m in Japan. For now I will spend five weeks in and I’m pretty much enjoying this stay!

Family is in good condition and Japan’s economy looks more or less stable.

  • Thank you Morocco

    Thank you Morocco

No thought had been spent and we booked a flight to Morocco. Gracefully Lufthansa went on strike so we had to rebook 10 hours before departure. Thanks LH  🙂

Anyhow – lovely experiences with all those fun people we met!

  • check – first oldtimer!

    check – first oldtimer!

I got my first oldtimer, a soviet styled moped made in 1976 in the German Democratic Republic previously owned by a friend. A Schwalbe KR51/1 model K; K for Komfort // comfort.

3.5 bhp, 65 km/h max, nearly no torque, barely no sound absorbers and a lot of good vibrations.

Biggest issue – it was parked in Essen, 480 km from Reutlingen. But beeing well known as a no-brainer I tried to ride it to Reutlingen. But 80 kilometers upfront the cylinder broke. Bad luck, but got the full winter for repairs. Let’s see!

    Eating through Japan

This time it had been Japan only. Cities like Osaka, Hirakata, Sapporo, Otaru, Izumo, Matsue, Sakkaiminato, Tottori, Kyoto, Nara…and a lot of food.
